First off welcome to The Pocket by me, Dravisha 👋.
Yes, I stole it from Doraemon and made it mine. *wink-wink*
Not expert advice. Not magic trinkle, but I explore one theme each month around workplace, culture, personal growth from my reflections, learnings and failures.
Here’s the background story:
In your upper kindergarten, remember there was one kid in the class who would always pee in the pants, and everybody would laugh at them?
That kid was me.
It took me 6 years to gather my guts, conquer my fears and ask my teacher to go pee. Yes, it was that big a task for me.
As a kid, I had fears others didn’t, and I was ashamed of it. Clearly, I’ve had a long-distance relationship with fear, and it goes back to 2004.
I used to draw in my notebook, only to check it myself so that others don’t judge my drawing. I was fearful.
With time, I realized, fears such as this were limiting my boundaries of happiness.
The reason, I started ticking off fears from my list. Be it standing in the darkness or swimming.
Oh, and yes, I did conquer my fear of drawing and painting. Here’s one I made recently:
But guess what? writing long-form content is one too.
A fear - “What If people don’t like the 3 hours I put in to write a piece?”
So pardon me If you’re judging me for stealing Doraemon’s pocket, I did it for this.
Thank you so much for the shoutout, Dravisha! ❤️
Best of luck with the pocket 💯
